The research was conducted using a rigorous, person-to-person fieldwork approach to capture authentic voter sentiment within the FNCCI Commodity category. Unlike general polling, this study utilized a “Deep-Dive Interview” technique to understand both individual intent and broader peer-group trends.
• Study Design: A qualitative and quantitative field-based research design was employed to assess the electoral landscape.
• Sample Size & Reach: Out of the total 124 eligible voters (comprising 107 Commodity Associations and 17 Commodity Federation members), a significant sample of 49 key voters was directly surveyed.
• Data Collection Method:
o Direct Field Visits: The research was conducted through face-to-face meetings with each participant, ensuring high data reliability and the ability to capture nuanced feedback.
o Peer-Analysis Inquiries: In addition to their own voting preference, each respondent was asked to provide their expert assessment of the broader voter pool, specifically evaluating who they believe other members are likely to support.
• Survey Duration: The comprehensive data collection and analysis phase spanned a period of one month.
• Key Assessment Tools: The survey utilized five primary questions focusing on:
o Leadership Competency: Evaluation of the candidates’ ability to lead the Federation.
o Team Balance: Perception of the inclusivity and diversity of the panels.
o Private Sector Agenda: Alignment of the candidate’s vision with the current needs of the business community.
o Future Vision: Strategic outlook for the FNCCI in a post-pandemic economic environment.
Methodological Conclusion: The use of direct interaction allowed the Governance Media and Research Lab (GMRL)to bypass superficial responses, resulting in a projection that reflects a deep understanding of the internal dynamics of the FNCCI Commodity voters.
